“what an exit” ist der zweite Teil der Installation “what an entrance”. Entstanden während der Wanderausstellung Regionale IV wurde die Installation im Palais für aktuelle Kunst e.V. in Glückstadt und im Flutgraben e.V. in Berlin ausgestellt. Durch die niedrigen Decken in Glückstadt wurde die Installation leicht adaptiert und erhielt so ihren Namen. “what an exit”. Sie erzählt den Moment nach dem Auftritt. Das Publikum ist schon längst nach Hause gegangen. Die Bühne ist leer und nur noch die Reste eines Auftrittes sind zu spüren.
"what an exit" is the second part of the installation "what an entrance". Created during the traveling exhibition Regionale IV, the installation was exhibited at the Palais für aktuelle Kunst e.V. in Glückstadt and at Flutgraben e.V. in Berlin. Due to the low ceilings in Glückstadt, the installation was slightly adapted and thus received its name. "what an exit". It recounts the moment after the performance. The audience has long since gone home. The stage is empty and only the remains of a performance can be felt.
Das Gerüst, eigentlich schwebend steht nun schwer auf dem Boden und trägt den leicht durchhängenden Lichterbogen. Im Hintergrund läuft immer noch die Projektion eines roten Samtvorhanges dessen Bewegungen eine Unentschlossenheit vorschlagen, die zwischen auf und zu fast verharrt. Die Möglichkeit einer nächsten Performance steht im Raum, doch nichts passiert.
The scaffolding, actually floating, now stands heavily on the floor and carries the slightly sagging arch of lights. In the background still runs the projection of a red velvet curtain whose movements suggest an indecision that almost pauses between open and closed. The possibility of a next performance stands in the room, but nothing happens.
